With 20 years experience in managing anterior eye health, we have a passion for helping patients with this chronic and complex condition who have often been told "there's nothing that can be done".
The condition usually gets worse over time and can begin to impact your vision and leave you vulnerable to infections.
We have a number of different approaches to treat the underlying causes of the tear imbalance and the sooner you begin, the easier it is to manage and the better the outcome.
All our treatments are carried out by optical professionals and are all evidence based approaches.

Our Treatments
Dry eyes often last a long time and have many causes. We will work with you to find out why your tears are out of balance and create a simple plan to help your eyes feel comfortable again. No matter how long you have struggled, we will walk with you every step of the way to ensure you get the relief you need.

Heated manual expression
Many types of dry eye are caused by oils trapped inside the glands. They become thick and stagnant. removing the old 'trapped' lipids and gently encouraging new oils to be released into the tears will help them to hold on the eye for longer.

Punctal occlusion
For patients who do not produce enough water in their eye we can help to slow down the drainage of the tears and hold it in the eye for longer. We can use medical filler or surgical plugs to achieve this effect.

Aqueous deficiency
OMNILENZ Amniotic membrane
For patients with damaged or non-healing corneal tissue, we utilise amniotic membrane grafting to act as a biological bandage. This advanced therapy introduces stem cells and essential growth factors to accelerate the regeneration of the corneal epithelium and restore vital nerve function. Ideal for managing complex, persistent symptoms or post-surgical recovery, this cutting-edge approach offers significant relief where standard care may not suffice. Application follows a full clinical assessment.

For conditions that are resistant to conventional treatments we are able to offer private Ophthalmology consultations to explore more advanced treatment approaches.
These clinics are available once a month and are subject to a full assessment. The appointment can only be booked in person- no online booking available.

Blepharitis treatment
A large proportion of dry eye is actually chronic eyelid margin disease. Infections in the glands of the lids and the lash follicles are easily addressed and, with careful maintenance, can significantly improve tear quality and reduce symptoms.

Intense Pulse Light IPL Therapy

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy uses gentle flashes of light on the skin around your eyes. This helps warm and open the oil glands in your eyelids so your tears stay on your eyes longer and feel more comfortable.
The treatment is quick, done in the clinic, and most people feel only mild warmth. We’ll explain each step before we start and make sure you feel safe and at ease throughout.

Low Level Light Therapy LLLT
Stimulating tear production
Often added to the end of other treatments this therapy uses photobiomodulation to enhance the secretions of the tear glands and improve the overall health of the eye.

Chronic dry eye is a long-term condition that requires consistent management rather than occasional, reactive treatment. Maintenance treatments are the key to symptom management and long term relief. Patients are encouraged to set up a payment plan to help spread the cost of on-going care. This enables them to avail of 2 maintenance treatments per year and make savings on pay-as-you-go options.
